WIN 4 LIFE (W4L) was founded in 1998 (formerly called "Young Tennis Divas" and "Champion4LIfe") by former 17th world ranked WTA TOUR tennis professional Leslie Allen. W4L Emphasizes the 4 Ds: Desire, Discipline, Determination, Dedication. These attributes will help prepare inner city boys and girls for successful life on and off the tennis court.
Many youth aspire to be professional athletes, but few are fortunate enough to live that dream. The goal of W4L is not to produce professional tennis players but to expose youth to other career opportunities in professional tennis and help prepare them to be productive citizens.
The W4L mentoring program includes public speaking, writing seminars, college preparation sessions, developing social etiquette, and cultural activities. On the court techniques used to train world-class athletes are employed to insure that the young people develop a healthy lifestyle and the positive qualities of champions. Through W4L youth reap the benefits of participation in tennis and develop skills that will empower them for life.
Unique Features
The youth visit pro tennis tournaments behind-the-scenes. They see the business of the tennis world and are exposed to career opportunities in tennis. They also meet one-on-one with professionals in various fields (journalists, agents, broadcasters, computer specialists, technicians, event managers, etc.).
